Christmas Comes Early For The Cats

Christmas has come early for the cats in the HOP. Two very nice friends generously gave us their cat’s carpeted climbing tree that she hasn’t used in the nearly 5 years they’ve had her. Amazing! Over the years my friend has told me that her cat rarely, if ever, climbed it, scratched on it, or slept on it. That’s hard to believe. The few times that I’ve cat sit for them, I’ve always amazed at the fact that their cat wasn’t all that impressed with the tall, fun-looking tree.

As we carried it out to the truck this morning, I couldn’t find a single cat hair on it! I’m not kidding! It’s in absolutely brand new condition. However, it’s a sure thing that after a week in the HOP, it’ll look 10 years old.

Of course, the cats were on it the moment we put it down on the floor. I doubted very much that they could even smell another cat on it. They didn’t seem to act as if they did anyway.

We are certainly fortunate having friends such as these. And, we have many. They all know how much we love our kitties. In the past, we’ve been given wonderful gifts for our cats and have had some fun stuff donated as well. In order to keep the cats happy, we appreciate everything. And, yes, they are indeed happy today.
